What is meant by radical change?
Jesus was a radical because he had a vision of the best qualities of the type
of person that would usher in the Kingdom of God. He was visionary who
proclaimed an alternative kingdom – a kingdom, which would break down barriers
of class, age and gender. A kingdom, which was passionate about justice,
compassion and healing.
For decades, a movement has been underway, which offers an alternative vision
of God, and of the human Jesus and of the church. To join this movement, you
will need a spirit of inquiry to rethink the kind of God we believe in, a
dedication to finding out about the human Jesus, which turns away from the
Cosmic Christ of faith and a willingness to look at the whole superstructure of
beliefs and doctrine that reinforces exclusion and which has failed women and
the poor.
Today, there exists communities which are places of inquiry and which presents
a vision that seeks the humanitarian ethics of Jesus. There are communities
dedicated to being shaped by the life of Jesus!
